How to Get Grass Seeds in Grounded 2 [Location Guide]

As soon as you step outside the lab after completing the basic tutorial, you’ll be introduced to Omni Tools—essential items you’ll rely on throughout the game. One of the most important early tools is the Omni Shovel, which requires Grass Seeds to craft. If you’re wondering how to get grass seeds in Grounded 2, the good news is they’re actually quite plentiful—you just need to know where to look.

Finding Grass Seeds

Grass Seeds in Grounded 2 can be collected by harvesting Grass Flowers, which stand taller than regular grass and have seed clusters at their tips. From the ground, it’s not always easy to tell them apart from normal grass, so look upward for bunches of pointed seeds.

Chopping Grass Flower

A reliable spot to find them is just outside the Snackbar Ranger Outpost, where several Grass Flowers grow within view. Once you’ve spotted one, approach the stem and chop it down from the base. When the flower falls, its cluster may release Grass Seeds. These seeds can land near the Grass Planks they drop, but they sometimes roll away, so check the surrounding area carefully.

If you miss out, simply locate another Grass Flower and try again. You only need one successful harvest to get the seeds required for the Omni-Shovel upgrade.

Unlocking Omni Shovel

Once you’ve collected Grass Seeds, open your Tools Menu and locate the Omni-Shovel Upgrade. This upgrade requires just a single Grass Flower’s worth of seeds, making it one of the easier early-game improvements to craft.

There aren’t many requirements for the Omni-Shover; you only need to gather these required materials and take them to any Ominent Terminal:

• 350x Science
• 1x Grass Seed
• 2x Sprig

Once you exchange these, you’ll receive the Level 1 Omni-Shovel. This tool allows you to dig up moving dirt to uncover Grubs, which can be harvested for their hides. As you progress, you’ll unlock higher-tier shovels capable of digging up tougher resources, such as Chewing Gum.
