Amantore was the queen of the ancient Kingdom of Kush in the Nubia region of Africa who oversaw extensive construction projects during her reign. Players with the Nubia scenario pack can select to play as Amanitore in Civilization 6. The Civ 6 Nubia leader offers players notable district and ranged unit productivity advantages and thrives in deserts thanks to her unique infrastructure.
Amanitore’s Kandake of Meroë Leader Bonus
The Kandake of Meroë leader bonus for Amanitore increases production for districts by 20%. However, this district production bonus increases to 40% when you place a Nubian Pyramid next to a city center. It’s a straightforward and effective leader bonus for building districts faster.
The Ta-Seti Nubia Civ Ability
Ta-Seti is the Nubian civ ability that has a few effects for ranged units and mines. It gives you a 30% production bonus for all ranged units. Your ranged units also gain 50% combat experience thanks to the Ta-Seti civ ability.
Ta-Seti also boosts your mined tiles over resources. It generates a +1 production yield bonus for mines placed over strategic resources. Mines placed over bonus and luxury resources receive a +2 gold yield bonus.
Nubia’s Unique Infrastructure and Units
Nubian Pyramid is the unique infrastructure you can add to desert tiles when playing as the Amanitore Civ 6 Nubia leader. That infrastructure always generates at least +2 food and +2 faith yields for desert tiles that include it. Placing a Nubian Pyramid in a city center generates +3 food yields rather than +2. It also generates a science, faith, gold, production, or culture yield bonus when placed beside a Campus, Commercial Hub, Harbor, Holy Site, Industrial Zone, or Theater Square district.
Pítati Archer is a unique ranged unit for the Amanitore Civ 6 Nubia leader that replaces the Archer. That unit has a higher melee attack and ranged strength ratings of 17 and 30. It can also move one tile further than the standard Archer unit.
Tips for Playing as the Amanitore Civ 6 Nubia Leader
The Amanitore Civ 6 Nubia leader is best for winning games with space races of military domination. Her Kandake of Meroë district production proficiency is a valuable leader bonus to have for building the Spaceport, Campus, and Industrial Zone districts required for securing space race victories. The Nubian Pyramid can also come in handy for increasing science and productivity yields during space races.
The most important thing to remember when playing as the Amanitore Civ 6 Nubia leader is that desert terrain is not bad for this civilization because of the Nubian Pyramid infrastructure. Don’t be afraid to establish cities near or within desert terrain for the Nubia civilization. In fact, it can only be encouraged to settle your cities next to desert tiles so you can fully exploit the Kandake of Meroë leader bonus with Nubian Pyramids.
To increase the amount of desert terrain for Nubia, try adjusting map settings when starting a new Civilization 6 game. Select the Advanced Map Settings option. Then, select Hot for the Temperature setting and Arid for Rainfall.
Unlock the Masonry technology ASAP so that you start adding Nubian Pyramids to desert tiles early on. The faith generated from a couple of Nubia Pyramids will enable you to establish a pantheon quickly. Consider selecting the God of Craftsman pantheon that will further increase your production yields from mines over strategic resources alongside the Ta-Seti civ ability.
Then, place your Nubian Pyramids next to Campus, Industrial, and other districts to generate additional science, production, and alternative yields. If you’re playing for a scientific victory, you should prioritize placing Nubian Pyramids on desert tiles around Campus districts to give your science output a boost. However, players seeking religious or cultural victories can boost faith and culture output by adding the pyramids next to Holy Sites or Theater Districts.
I recommend appointing and placing the Liang governor in a city to further boost its Spaceport, Industrial Zone, and Campus district production, along with the Kandake of Meroë leader bonus. Liang’s Zoning Commissioner promotion gives her city a 30% district production boost. You can increase district production in a city by 50%-70% with the Zoning Commissioner and the Kandake of Meroë combined.
If you prefer to bonk some heads with your military to win Civ 6 games, recruit more ranged units when playing as the Amanitore Civ 6 Nubia leader because of the Ta-Seti production bonus for them. Make the most of the strong Pítati Archer unit to help you win early-game wars. Ranged units are somewhat stronger during the early and mid-game periods than in the late game. So, try to push out more ranged units for winning wars during the early and mid-game.
To increase the production of ranged units even more, select the Agoge and Feudal Contract military policy cards. Agoge provides a 50% production boost for ranged units from the Ancient and Classical Eras. Feudal Contract replaces Agoge and increases production for Ancient, Classical, Medieval, and Renaissance ranged units by 50%.
So, players who prefer to engage in space races or wage many wars should certainly consider playing as the Amanitore Civ 6 Nubia leader in Civilization 6. The Kandake of Meroë bonus for district production is useful for all victory types, but all the more so for the scientific victory condition. The same can be said of the Nubian Pyramid, which is a versatile, unique infrastructure for cities with many desert tiles. With Ta-Seti boosting the production and combat experience of ranged units, Nubia is also a more appealing civilization for warmongering players.
