One piece of equipment we’re looking forward to with semi-egregious anticipation is the Master Chief’s new Grappleshot weapon, which the 343 devs have gone on record to describe as, “both terrifying and liberating.”

If you’re anything like us and want to learn more about the story behind Master Chief’s new Grappleshot weapon, there’s good news — the latest Halo Infinite short film does just that. The film follows the research and developmental process on the prototype version of the Grappleshot (entitled “Project Magnes”) by a civilian engineer during the Human/Covenant conflict.

“Having a tool like the Grappleshot definitely challenged us to rethink the way we build our environments because it’s such a versatile and fun mechanic that allows players to get nearly anywhere that they can reach,” 343 Halo Infinite Campaign Art Lead Justin Dinges explained in a previous Halo Waypoint blog post. “The good news is that not only is the gameplay that much more fun because of it, but we can also expect players to get to some really awesome locations and vantage points that will further show off the beauty of the world we have created. For me, the Grappleshot is an exciting example of a new gameplay feature that provides great wins for both players and devs alike.”

What do you think about Master Chief’s new Grappleshot weapon? Are you looking forward to use it in-game/in-combat?
