Forza Horizon 5: How to complete the Avenida Speed Trap and Riviera Maya Speed Zone objectives

Forza Horizon 5’s Series 16 Summer Festival Playlist is here and with it the introduction to the #FORDzathon; this week’s Avenida Speed Trap and Riviera Maya Speed Zone objectives both require an old school, B-class Ford from pre-1970 and we share our car and tune choices for completing both objectives below.

How to complete the Avenida Speed Trap objective

I was able to complete the Avenida Speed Trap objective with the 1968 Ford Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback, which is a barn find unlocked through the game’s story progression from a barn on the side of the road northeast of Guanajuato.

I used the following tune by ugrundy (Share Code: 356 931 769), which features Sport suspension, Rally tire compound and All-Wheel-Drive, as well as a top speed of 166.5 MPH, a 0-60 of 3.24 seconds, 515 Horsepower and 677 ft-lb of torque. The tune gives the Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback an impressive 9.9 Launch rating, 7.0 in Acceleration, 5.9 in Handling and 5.8 in Speed, all of which makes it an impressive B-class car, especially for the Avenida Speed Trap objective, given the car’s smooth handling and superb grip.

Start roughly 1 mile south of the Avenida Speed Trap near the Canyon Expedition marker on the map and keep your foot on the gas the entire time.

Because there may be some of you without the 1968 Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback barn find, the Avenida Speed Trap can also be completed with the 1965 Ford Mustang GT Coupe, with the following tune by Saeenu.

The tune puts the Mustang at a top speed of 146 MPH, gives it a 0-60 of 4.2 seconds, 359 Horsepower and 359 ft-lb of torque. It also gives the Mustang an 8.9 Launch rating, a 7.8 in Acceleration and 5.3 in handling, all of which are well-suited for the objectives at hand.

If you’re having trouble on how to complete the Avenida Speed Trap objective, refer to our video below.

How to complete the Riviera Maya Speed Zone objective

To complete the Riviera Maya Speed Zone objective, you can use either the 1968 Ford Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback legendary barn find car or the 1965 Ford Mustang GT from the previous entry.

Start about 0.6 miles east of the Speed Zone, right next to the Goliath Road Race on the map. If you’re having trouble finding the proper starting point, refer to our map below.

You’ll want to ease on the acceleration/tap the brakes for the first turn to the left but after that you should be able to keep your foot on the pedal the entire way to ensure you reach the required speed for the objective (100 MPH). If you’re still stuck on how to complete the Riviera Maya Speed Zone objective, refer to our video below.

Enjoy your Super Wheelspins.

Rest in peace, Ken Block.

Ninja Gaiden was my rite of passage at an early age. After finally beating that game (and narrowly dodging carpal tunnel) I decided to write about my gaming exploits. These days I enjoy roguelikes and anything Pokemon but I'll always dust off Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country and StarFox 64 from time to time to bask in their glory.
