Overview Phoenix

Phoenix Overview

Phoenix is a ranged DPS Duelist and can be a little tricky to use at first. However, once you get the hang of her, she becomes extremely powerful in combat. In a nutshell, she feels like a mix between Moon Knight and Hela. She has strong AoE damage, but to activate it, you need to aim precisely and hit your targets to stack sparks first.

  • Maintain Distance: Phoenix is a ranged character, so stay back from the frontlines. Position yourself carefully and avoid close combat whenever possible
  • Prioritize Soft Targets: Focus on enemies with low health. Avoid engaging Vanguards since they can absorb more damage and waste your Sparks.
  • Focus Fire: Target the same enemy until you land three Sparks. This will trigger an explosion that damages nearby enemies, spreads Sparks, and heals you.
  • Use Mobility Wisely: Phoenix’s escape abilities have long cooldowns. Save them for when you’re truly surrounded or need to escape a bad situation.
  • Save Your Ultimate for Impact: Phoenix’s ultimate can change the outcome of a fight. Use it when enemies are grouped to maximize its effectiveness.
  • Control High Ground: Use Dark Ascent to reach elevated areas. From higher ground, you can attack more safely and hit targets more easily.

Best Team Comps

Abilities Phoenix

Abilities of Phoenix

Phoenix has a Team-Up ability with Wolverine called Primal Flame, where Phoenix becomes the anchor and channels the Phoenix Force into Wolverine.

The pairing is a natural fit; Wolverine’s Feral Leap gains an AOE boost, while Phoenix gets a small damage increase. In battle, Phoenix can soften up enemies from a distance, and then Wolverine can dive in to finish them off. It takes some coordination, but the payoff is worth it.

Of course, not every random teammate will pick Wolverine, so here are other heroes who also work well with Phoenix:

  • Doctor Strange: His Eye of Agamotto can freeze groups of enemies in place, boosting AOE damage. This sets up Phoenix’s Endsong Inferno for a devastating combo. His shields also help keep Phoenix safe while she dishes out damage.
  • Cloak & Dagger: A flexible duo that fits nearly any team. Dagger’s primary fire heals allies and damages enemies, and it bounces off walls. This makes it easy to heal Phoenix while she’s flying or dashing, and the AOE damage can finish off foes already weakened by Phoenix’s attacks.
  • Moon Knight: His Duelist’s Ankhs pull enemies together, giving Phoenix the perfect setup for chained explosions and huge AOE bursts.
