This year’s spooky celebration is rumored to bring in some serious horror icons and unexpected crossovers, including: Ghostface from Scream, Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th, Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang and headlining the event — the KPop Demon Hunters.
The K-pop trio Huntrix — made up of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey — will debut as playable skins in the Item Shop. Players can also expect themed emotes, cosmetics inspired by classic horror films, and a brand-new limited-time mode: Demon Rush. (Epic Games further substantiated the rumors around the KPop Demon Hunters collab through singer Rei Ami’s social media. Ami, who provides the singing voice for Zoey in the film, shared a sneak peek of Zoey’s Fortnite skin.)
Demon Rush puts a supernatural spin on the fan-favorite Horde Rush, challenging squads to fend off waves of demonic enemies instead of the usual zombie horde. Expect high-energy chaos, K-pop flair, and some stylish monster slaying.
The KPop Demon Hunters x Fortnite collab will also bring new UEFN tools, meaning creators will be able to make their own KPop Demon Hunters-themed maps.
Netflix’s animated hit KPop Demon Hunters has taken the world by storm — which is what makes the KPop Demon Hunters x Fortnite collab seem like a perfect match. The film follows Huntrix — a chart-topping K-pop girl group who moonlight as demon slayers — as they battle supernatural threats while staying on top of the music charts. Packed with high-energy action, Korean mythology, and original songs, it blends pop culture with fantasy in a way that’s clearly resonated.
Since its release, KPop Demon Hunters has become Netflix’s most-watched film ever, racking up over 236 million views. A limited sing-along theatrical release also hit No. 1 at the U.S. box office, pulling in up to $20 million.
The soundtrack is just as massive — with four songs landing in the Billboard Hot 100’s top 10 and breakout hit “Golden” topping charts worldwide. Both fans and critics have embraced the film for its bold style, catchy music, and genre-bending storytelling.
Are you hyped for the KPop Demon Hunters x Fortnite collab, or are you secretly stanning the Saja Boys instead? With all the love Huntrix is getting, we can’t help but wonder — will the Saja Boys crash the party too? Whether it’s a surprise skin drop or a cameo in Demon Rush, here’s hoping these demon heartthrobs get their moment in the spotlight too.
The KPop Demon Hunters x Fortnite collab is set to launch with the start of the Fortnitemares event on October 2nd.
