Writing

Writing is one of the most essential Civ 6 tech tree technologies because of the Campus district and Library it unlocks. Campus districts are crucial for fuelling scientific research. One Campus District and a Library building alone will give you at least a +4 science boost, more with adjacency bonuses, plus additional great scientist points. So, building Campus districts and their Library buildings is crucial to increasing science research and getting ahead on the tech tree.

Industrialization

 

Unlocking Industrialization enables you to build Factory buildings, which are one of the most important for boosting production.
