Post Malone buys extremely rare Magic: The Gathering card worth over $2 million

It’s safe to say that rapper/songwriter Post Malone, one of the most successful and well-known musicians of the past ten years, makes bank. Posty, who earns $500,000 per concert and has a net worth of $45 million, isn’t afraid to go flex his wealth a little bit either — in addition to wearing a $20,000 grill on his teeth, Post owns a number of extravagant supercars, like a $420,000 Rolls Royce Phantom, a $500,000 Lamborghini Aventador SV and a $3 million Bugatti Chiron. Post recently added another valuable item to his collection; this time it wasn’t a grill or a supercar however, but an extremely rare Magic: The Gathering card worth over $2 million.

The extremely rare Magic: The Gathering card which Post Malone purchased is the only one of its kind in the world, a crossover tie-in card to The Lord of the Rings called The One Ring. The card was previously in the possession of an MTG fan named Brook Trafton. Trafton, who can be seen below on his TikTok meeting Post and presenting him with the extremely rare Magic: The Gathering card, says that he knew the card would be in good hands with Post, who himself was an avid MTG collector.

When I found the One Ring, the first person who came to mind was @Post Malone. I have played MTG since I was a kid and obviously it would be amazing to keep this card. But for a guy like me, being able to sell it is life changing. I just really hoped it would go to someone who would appreciate it as much as I do. This is my dream come true, meeting Post Malone and him buying the One Ring card from me is literally a moment straight out of a fairytale. Post Malone @Magic: The Gathering you have changed my life. Things like this don’t happen to people like me, I guess it’s magic. I am forever grateful 🙏 ✨  #postmalone #onering #oneofone #mtg #magic #mint #psa #card #magicthegathering #lordoftherings #trading #tradingcards #theonering #sauron #collector #edition #one #gandalf #tradingcardgame

“When I found the One Ring, the first person who came to mind was @Post Malone,” Trafton wrote in the TikTok capton. “I have played MTG since I was a kid and obviously it would be amazing to keep this card. This is my dream come true, meeting Post Malone and him buying the One Ring card from me is literally a moment straight out of a fairytale. Post Malone [and] @Magic: The Gathering you have changed my life. Things like this don’t happen to people like me, I guess it’s magic. I am forever grateful.”

Post Malone is currently on his ““If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying Tour,” which coincides with the release of his new album, AUSTIN.

Ninja Gaiden was my rite of passage at an early age. After finally beating that game (and narrowly dodging carpal tunnel) I decided to write about my gaming exploits. These days I enjoy roguelikes and anything Pokemon but I'll always dust off Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country and StarFox 64 from time to time to bask in their glory.
