9 Call of Duty: Mobile Tips for Battle Royale Squad Matches

Call of Duty: Mobile includes a solo and squad battle royale mode for players to fight it out on. Playing COD: Mobile battle royale in squads can be more entertaining than going solo. Battle royale squad matches can be less punishing for new players and have a different gameplay dynamic than solo, with four players vs. 96. Here are some Call of Duty: Mobile tips to help you win more battle royale squad matches.

Select the Fill Team Option

First, make sure you select the Fill Team option before you start a battle royale match in Call of Duty: Mobile. Selecting that option will ensure you start matches in a full squad of players, which will obviously give you a better chance of winning. Only select No Fill when you can invite three friends to join you for a battle royale match.

Jump With Your Teammates

When a Call of Duty: Mobile match starts, you are set to follow a jump leader by default. There is a Cancel Following option you can select, but I don’t recommend doing so. Following the jump leader enables a team to start a match together from the outset when all players in the squad do the same. Teams that stick together more usually fare better in battle royale matches than those that split up.

If you land somewhere on the map far from your teammates, you’ll be much more likely to get swamped by enemy squads during the first five minutes of a battle royale match. Then, your teammates will probably be unable to revive you when you’re too far away from them on the map. So, jump with your teammates to land alongside them.

Create Flank Fire

Try to play off your teammates when fighting alongside them in COD: Mobile battle royale squad matches. One way to do so is to create flank fire, which is a squad tactic where one player attacks (shoots) at an enemy from a different position and angle. If you see a teammate directly engaging an enemy from the front, try moving into an alternative position along the flanks of the hostile from which to shoot. Sometimes opportunities to create flank fire can emerge quite naturally, but other times you might need to move yourself more intentionally into better shooting positions.

Pick Up and Utilize a Sniper Rifle

The Call of Duty: Mobile battle royale Isolated map is really good for sniping and long-range kills, which can be all the more devastating in squad matches. You can rack up kills with sniper rifles in battle royale squad matches by playing off your teammates. When engaging enemies, drop off further back from your teammates who move in to fight them at closer quarters. Then, snipe down those enemies who will be more focused on fighting your teammates closest to them.

Don’t Rush Into Enemy Teams Alone

If you see what looks like an enemy team in the distance, don’t rush in to fight it alone. Rushing into enemy squads without any team support can be one of the best ways to get yourself killed. Instead, wait for some team support to reach you. When you’re on your own in a match, consider retreating away from enemy squads entirely to boost your survival chances.

Use Quick Chat Options

Although communication isn’t necessarily essential to winning COD: Mobile battle royale squad matches, using the quick chat options can help squad coordination. Quick chat options like “Let’s go,” “Squad, on me,” “Don’t rush in,” “Follow us,” “I’ll flank them,” “Pick up my dog tag,” and “Need backup” can be useful pointers for your teammates. So, try using some of the quick chat options to make some useful pointers during squad matches.

You can also customize the chat options by adding more messages to them. To do so, tap the menu button at the top right of COD Mobile and select Settings. Then, tap the arrow button to access the second settings menu screen. Select the Quick Message and Battle Royale tabs. Finally, select Edit to add more message options to your list.

Ambush Enemies Around Eliminated Players’ Dog Tags

Dog tags are ID items left behind by eliminated teammates. Those dog tags expire after a few minutes. Players can revive teammates by picking up their dog tags and scanning them before they expire. However, that’s not necessarily as simple as reviving teammates from respawners as you can in some battle royale games.

Dog tags are like magnets that sometimes attract squad members from eliminated players’ teams. When you kill an enemy, stick around the area that includes his/her dog tags for a couple of minutes to intercept any players who try to pick them up. Move into more concealed positions from which to ambush enemies who try to pick up dog tags. Likewise, be careful of potential enemy ambushes when you try to retrieve dog tags for eliminated teammates.

Use Vehicles to Hook Up With Teammates

Call of Duty: Mobile battle royale includes some pretty groovy vehicles that can be more useful in squad matches than solo. When you get separated from teammates, jumping into a vehicle and riding it can be the safest and quickest way to link up with them again. Then, you can usually just zoom past any enemy squads that might intercept you en route.

Some of the vehicles in Call of Duty: Mobile battle royale are also designed for squad matches. For example, the Antelope A20 can carry three players, with one as a driver and another as a gunner. The helicopter can carry up to four players, and those three who aren’t controlling it can shoot down at enemies below. So, try jumping into such vehicles with your teammates to exploit their weaponry.

Ping Enemies

Call of Duty: Mobile also includes a standard in-game ping option for its squad battle royale matches. I always appreciate teammates who utilize that option to highlight approximate positions of enemies they spot with red marker pings. So, tap the ping option to show your teammates where some of the enemies are when you see them.

I win many of my COD: Mobile battle royale squad matches because I usually stick to those Call of Duty: Mobile tips above. Of course, having reliable teammates around you also helps, but you can’t often pick your squad. The key pointers to remember are: stick together, play off your teammates for flank fire and sniping, don’t rush into enemy teams alone, utilize quick and basic communication options, and ambush enemies around dog tags.
