10 Tips for Enhancing Your K/D Ratio in Call of Duty: Mobile

The K/D ratio in Call of Duty: Mobile, and any other first-person shooter, is your number of kills divided by deaths. Enhancing that ratio is crucial to winning more Team Deathmatch, Frontline, and Search and Destroy matches in Call of Duty Mobile. Although not quite so important in the objective-based game modes, your K/D ratio still has an impact in Domination and Hardpoint. Here are some tips for enhancing your K/D ratio in Call of Duty: Mobile.

Shoot From Elevated Positions

Most multiplayer maps in Call of Duty: Mobile feature elevated positions, often located on the second or third floors of buildings. Exploiting elevated positions is a fundamental principle for map control in COD Mobile matches. Shooting down from higher levels provides a better view of the surrounding landscape, reduces cover effectiveness for targets, and makes it naturally easier to inflict headshot kills. So, shooting from elevated positions more often will give you an edge in your matches.

Strafe Out From Cover

Strafing is a gameplay technique whereby you move sideways, shooting, typically in out-of-cover positions. Strafe out to shoot and kill, and then back behind your cover when you’ve taken a few too many hits. Doing this will enhance your K/D ratio because it will keep your hitbox in motion, making it harder for enemies to hit you. Then, you can also strafe behind nearby cover to replenish health when necessary.

Listen to the Footsteps

The sound of footsteps is always a crucial audio cue for approaching enemies to listen out for. Listening to those footsteps enables you to anticipate enemy movement somewhat better to avert being caught off guard. Turn the general volume up on your mobile device to make those footsteps louder. Playing with headphones is even better if you have any.

Dead Silence is also a good perk to equip for significantly reducing your own footstep sounds. That perk reduces footstep sound for walking and crouching, making it ideal for stealth-based combat. So, equip that perk to make it harder for players to hear you approaching.

Don’t Play Too Aggressively (Look Before You Leap)

Playing too aggressively, otherwise headless chicken rushing into enemy fire, is something to avoid in Call of Duty: Mobile multiplayer. Blindly sprinting into enemy fire will often get you killed during matches, resulting in a lower K/D ratio. Instead, look before you leap (tactical aggression) by looking around more before rushing in for kills. To look before you leap, check corners, pre-aim where enemies might be lurking, and move from cover to cover.

Sometimes it can be better to let enemies come to you rather than rush blindly into them. Find a good shooting position, and then wait (and listen) for the enemies to rush into your line of fire. That kind of camping can be an effective tactic if you alternate positions more regularly. Players will eventually suss your camping spot, but you can keep surprising them by alternating positions.

Retreat When Low on Health

Depleted health gradually replenishes during multiplayer matches in Call of Duty: Mobile. However, health starts to regenerate when you avoid taking damage for five seconds. When you’ve taken a few too many hits, retreat to a cover position and wait for your health to fully replenish.

Avoid Central Map Areas

Another fundamental tactic for enhancing your K/D ratio in COD Mobile is to avoid moving through more open central areas on maps. Many maps include clear centers, which are typically the most exposed and dangerous areas to move through. When you move through central map areas, you expose yourself to fire from multiple angles.

Instead, try moving along the sides of maps from which you can flank opponents foolish enough to go through the central areas. Take up positions from windows that overlook central areas. Then, shoot down enemies who move through the central areas.

Move Alongside Teammates

Moving alongside teammates during matches reduces the likelihood of being caught in 1v2 or 1v3 scenarios. It enables you to combine firepower to kill off targets more efficiently. Rushing alone is a dangerous tactic that usually reduces K/D ratios.

Utilize the Best Scorestreaks

Utilizing the best scorestreaks can considerably enhance your K/D ratio in COD: Mobile matches. Chopper Gunner, Stealth Chopper, VTOL, and XS1 Goliath are four of the best scorestreaks to equip for inflicting mass kills on enemies. This Retbit guide provides further details about the best COD: Mobile scorestreaks.

Don’t Forget to Reload

Having to reload your gun when engaged in a close-quarter gunfight is like getting caught with your pants down. It takes a few seconds to reload a gun, which leaves you extremely vulnerable with enemies right ahead. So, don’t forget to reload your gun after inflicting kills or when you’ve fired off many bullets. Strafe behind cover to reload your fun after firing off a few rounds.

Aim Down Sights for Better Accuracy

Aiming down sights is the best way to enhance shooting accuracy, which will boost your K/D ratio in Call of Duty: Mobile multiplayer matches. That’s especially the case when shooting from mid to long distances. Aiming down sights is the best way to pick off enemies from further away, but it can be more awkward for close-range gunfights.

The K/D ratio is the primary performance benchmark in Call of Duty: Mobile. To check that stat in COD: Mobile, tap your profile button, Basic, and the multiplayer box with two flags. If your K/D ratio is less than one (like 0.84, for example), that’s something you need to work on. The tips above will probably enhance your COD: Mobile K/D ratio.
