Polish Analyst Predicts There Will Be a New Witcher 3 DLC

Many players rate The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to be the best RPG ever released for Windows PC, at least. Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has great narrative depth, a compelling main story, expansive worlds, and decent gameplay variety. A Witcher 4 is in production, but it will not be released until 2027 at the earliest. However, CD Projekt Red might release a new Witcher 3 DLC in 2026, according to a Noble Securities report published on December 16.

Noble Securities is a Polish investment bank and financial analyst that covers CD Projekt Red. The analyst Mateusz Chrzanowski published regular reports on future projects and stock for company investors. A passage from that analyst’s report says: “We expect the next paid add-on (DLC) for The Witcher 3 to be released in May 2026. We assume sales of 11 million copies at $30 each next year. We estimate the production budget at PLN 52 million. The release should kick off the proper marketing campaign for The Witcher 4.

That quoted prediction strengthens the many rumors surrounding a potential a Witcher 3 DLC. The main premise for those rumors is that a new Witcher 3 DLC will be a prelude for the upcoming Witcher 4 title. The DLC could introduce new story details and characters that transition into the next addition to the Witcher series.

Of course, some skeptics might wonder how CD Projekt can find the time to develop a new DLC when it is so busy with Witcher 4. Sources indicate that CD Projekt has assigned Fool’s Theory, one of its key partners, to develop a Witcher 3 DLC. That would make sense since CD Projekt has confirmed Fool’s Theory to be developing The Witcher Remake.

Witcher 3 is a game over 10 years old. It has had two major DLCs to date, the most recent of which was Blood and Wine, released in May 2016. Releasing a new Witcher 3 DLC next year will revive more interest in the series before the next installment. Thus, a new DLC would be the ideal promotional ploy for the Witcher 4 marketing campaign.

The Noble Securities analyst also predicts a Q4 (October, November, or December) 2027 release date for Witcher 4. That means the release of Witcher 4 could still be almost a couple of years away in late 2027 or early 2028. The broker analyst predicts a titanic tussle between Witcher 4 and Grand Theft Auto 6, which is expected to launch on November 19, 2026. The report also says, “In the Golden Joystick Awards 2025 rankings, The Witcher 4 lost to GTA VI by only 2 percentage points in the competition for the title of most anticipated game, which illustrates the scale of the brand’s development and its potential.

What we know for sure about the upcoming Witcher 4 game is that Ciri, rather than Geralt, will be the star of the show. However, Geralt is expected to be a supporting character in the next game, as confirmed by voice actor Doug Cockle. The next game will be based on the Unreal Engine 5, will have new regions to explore, and will also include a Lynx medallion for Ciri.

So, fans will no doubt be hoping the Noble Securities prediction about a new Witcher 3 DLC is correct. CD Projekt has not yet confirmed any new DLC for The Witcher 3. If there is a new Witcher 3 DLC in the works, we should hear some official confirmation for it before its forecasted May 2026 launch.
