Following the breakout success of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, developer Dotemu and Tribute Games return to the retro-infused, side-scrolling beat ’em up genre with Marvel Cosmic Invasion. This time the developers bring their arcade-style combat from the pizza loving heroes in a halfshell to the Marvel Universe, letting players take control of iconic superheroes like Iron Man, Wolverine, Captain America, Storm, and Beta Ray Bill as they battle enemies across the cosmos to take on a universal threat.
Much like TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, Marvel Cosmic Invasion features an easy to pick up but surprisingly refined combat system where each hero has their own special moves, power attacks, and unique abilities. Many of the in-game challenges revolve around using these moves in specific ways, some of which can be more confusing than others, especially if you haven’t practiced with a character beforehand.
The following guide will help you complete some of the trickier challenges in Marvel Cosmic Invasion.
Hit 3 enemies with a single electro-charge attack using Iron Man

To perform Iron Man’s Electro-Charge attack, hold down the attack button and then release it. Iron Man will fire an orb of blue energy from a compartment on his wrist. The orb lingers in the air, damaging any enemies it hits directly or those that walk into it afterward.
The longer you hold the attack button, the farther the orb travels across the screen. If you release it quickly, the orb will appear closer to Iron Man, letting you place it more precisely. Position yourself carefully and release the attack when several enemies are approaching to hit three targets with a single charge.
Defeat 10 enemies using Wolverine’s Feral Throw

Wolverine is one of the fastest melee attackers in Marvel Cosmic Invasion, but his rapid claw strikes can sometimes lock him into attacking in one direction. That’s where his Feral Throw becomes especially useful.
To perform Wolverine’s Feral Throw, press the Power Attack button. When Wolverine grapples an enemy, press the Power Attack button again to throw them.
You can throw enemies either in front of you or behind you depending on your positioning. Importantly, the throw doesn’t just damage the grabbed enemy — any enemies they collide with will also take damage. If those enemies are defeated by the impact, they count toward the challenge as well, making crowded encounters the perfect opportunity to rack up progress quickly.
Hit 4 enemies with a single tackle using Beta Ray Bill

Although Thor has long been a staple of Marvel games thanks to one of the most transformative character arcs in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Beta Ray Bill is a fantastic addition to Marvel Cosmic Invasion in Thor’s place.
In Marvel lore, Beta Ray Bill is notable for being the first non-Asgardian worthy enough to lift Mjolnir, Thor’s enchanted hammer. He achieved this in his debut appearance in Thor #337 (1983) during a battle with Thor himself. After defeating Thor and later saving his life when the planet they fought on was destroyed, Bill impressed Odin so greatly that the All-Father gifted him his own enchanted hammer: Stormbreaker. Despite his intimidating appearance, Beta Ray Bill sought Thor’s power for a noble purpose: to protect the people of his home planet, Korbin.
In Marvel Cosmic Invasion, Beta Ray Bill is one of the largest playable characters. While he’s slower than many of the other heroes, he more than makes up for it with raw strength and powerful abilities. One of his most effective moves is his tackle, which sends him charging across the screen with Stormbreaker held forward.
To hit four enemies with a single tackle, tap forward on the movement joystick twice to initiate a sprint, then press the attack button to launch the tackle. Time it when multiple enemies are lined up in front of you for the best chance of hitting all four in one charge.
Defeat 10 enemies by dropping Electric Bombs using Storm

During the Genosha level in Marvel Cosmic Invasion, the heroes infiltrate a massive Sentinel factory. Sentinels, giant robots designed to hunt and eliminate mutants, are constantly being produced here.
Throughout the stage, mechanical claws move along the ceiling on chains. Sometimes these claws carry additional Sentinels into the fight, but other times they hold Electric Bombs. You can attack these bombs to knock them loose.
Once released, the bombs fall to the ground and explode in a surge of blue electricity, damaging nearby enemies and often defeating several at once.
To earn this challenge with Storm, simply attack the bombs while enemies are nearby. You can:
- Use a jump attack to knock the bomb free
- Hold the attack button to unleash a tornado that hits it
- Use Storm’s Power Attack when your focus meter is filled
Dropping the bombs into groups of enemies is the fastest way to defeat the required ten targets.
Hit 3 enemies with a single shield throw using Captain America

Captain America, the iconic Avengers leader and super soldier, is one of the Marvel Universe’s most skilled fighters. His trademark shield, forged from a near-indestructible vibranium alloy, makes him even more proficient.
The shield also gives Cap great versatility in Marvel Cosmic Invasion. He can attack enemies from a distance before closing in for melee combat.
While it might seem best to wait until several enemies cluster together before throwing the shield, there’s actually an easier trick. Throw the shield past the enemies instead of directly at them. The shield will bounce off the edge of the screen and fly back to Captain America. Any enemies standing between Cap and the returning shield will be struck as it rebounds.
One of the best places to complete this challenge is on top of the train in the Wakanda level, where yellow-suited A.I.M. soldiers frequently bunch together in groups.
