Six magnificent shots from Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ Photo Mode on the PS4

One of the most entertaining and impressive facets of Spider-Man: Miles Morales on the PS4, (much like its predecessor Marvel’s Spider-Man) aside from web-slinging across New York City is capturing said web-slinging in the game’s beautiful Photo Mode.

To enter Spider-Man: Miles Morales‘ Photo Mode, press the Option button on your PS4 controller, which will bring up the Pause menu. From there, scroll to the fourth option in the menu to select Photo Mode. The Camera Mode submenu will appear in the bottom right hand of your screen with a slew of options from which to select, such as Camera type, Suit selection, Tilt, Hero Visibility, Exposure, Focus Distance, Intensity, Color and a whole lot more. You can even overlay your Camera Mode photo with Stickers, like “Be Yourself” text and even miniaturized, bobblehead-esque Miles Morales drawings.

You can use the directional pad to toggle between Free Mode and Selfie Mode; Selfie Mode should look very familiar to those of you who use Instagram, as the filters and other assorted options are near identical. Taking photos, whether through Free Mode or Selfie Mode has become something of an art form in itself in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, so we decided to gather some of our favorite shots from across the internet and show them off.

The following images are some of our favorite shots from Spider-Man: Miles Morales‘ Photo Mode on the PS4.

Web-slinging sidekick

There are few things more gratifying than Miles and the OG Spider-Man (who’s rocking the slick Spider-Man PS4 suit) web-slinging together through New York City.

Explosions

Sure, you might look cool walking away from an explosion; but what about leaping away from an explosion thanks to your proportional Spider-strength?

2020 suit

The year 2020 might not be synonymous with good vibes now or in the annals of history, but good vibes is all the 2020 suit emanates in Spider-Man: Miles Morales. This simple side photo is one of our favorite shots from Spider-Man: Miles Morales‘ photo mode on the PS4.

Oh, the weather outside is weather

Wind, rain, shine, sleet, hail or snow, Miles’ job great responsibility as Spider-Man means never calling into work on account of the weather.

Uptown pride

Miles Morales is the first biracial character to represent Spider-Man, being half Black and half Puerto Rican. So it’s a nice touch that Insomniac added this mural in Miles’ hometown of Harlem, New York.

RIP Chadwick Boseman

Another nice touch is this tribute to late Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman, Boseman Way street can be found in-game on 42nd Street, where it becomes Boseman Way between 1st and 3rd Street. This is on account of Chadwick Boseman’s big breakout role in the film 42, where he played iconic baseball player Jackie Robinson, the first African American to play Major League Baseball in the 20th century.

Ninja Gaiden was my rite of passage at an early age. After finally beating that game (and narrowly dodging carpal tunnel) I decided to write about my gaming exploits. These days I enjoy roguelikes and anything Pokemon but I'll always dust off Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country and StarFox 64 from time to time to bask in their glory.
