Forza Horizon 5: How to find the Switchbacks Speed Zone and complete the weekly challenge with the 2010 Audi TT RS Coupe

The weekly Festival Playlist for the week starting on December 1st in Forza Horizon 5 involves the 2010 Audi TT RS Coupe, a two-door production car from the German manufacturer which derives its name from the successful motor racing tradition of NSU in the British Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) motorcycle race.

After obtaining and driving the 2010 Audi TT RS Coupe, the second objectives in this week’s Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist (Chapter 2, Trial of Man) is to earn 2 stars on the Switchbacks Speed Zone with the 2010 Audi TT RS Coupe. Because are there over twenty-five Speed Zones in the game, it can sometimes be difficult to remember exactly where each Speed Zone is located if you haven’t utilized it recently; as always, that’s where we come in.

How to find the Switchbacks Speed Zone in Forza Horizon 5

To find the Switchbacks Speed Zone in Forza Horizon 5, players will have to venture up the (what else?) zigzagged, switchback trail along the eastern side of La Gran Caldera. The Switchbacks Speed Zone is roughly 6.4 miles from the mountain’s entrance at the Volcan Sprint road race and 3.5 miles west of the Cara Este drift zone. If you’ve reached the Mountain Top danger sign without coming across the Switchbacks Speed Zone, then you’ve gone too far up the mountain.

Upgrading the 2010 Audi TT RS Coupe to S1 class

The next installment of the Forzathon Weekly Challenge (Chapter 3, Rallysport Engineering) requires players to upgrade the 2010 Audi TT RS Coupe to win any S1 Class Race Event. I found the following tunes well-equipped for the task at hand:

Tuner: ugrundy

This tune from FH5 player ugrundy brings the Acceleration and Launch of the 2010 Audi TT RS Coupe to 10.0 and makes for 213.1 mph top speed, 0-60 mph in 2.360 seconds, 905 HP, and 642 ft-lb of torque. This tune has a little better control and braking than the following tune, so it’s recommended to use ugrundy’s Audi TT RS tune if you’re going to use the car for a circuit race.

Tuner: [$v$]geistwriter

This tune by geistwriter boasts a 0-60 mph of 2.289s, 250.2 mph top speed, 589 ft-lb torque and 830 HP. Because of its higher top speed, it might be a better idea to use this tune for road sprints as opposed to circuit races.

A fun little car

The next chapter of the Forzathon Weekly Challenge requires players to “do some donuts until you earn an Ultimate Burnout Skill in the 2010 Audi TT RS Coupe.”

The easiest way to perform an Ultimate Burnout Skill is to turn off your traction control, which can be accessed in the Settings menu, under the Difficulty tab; once traction control is off, hold down the handbrake (the A button in standard controller settings), hit the gas, watch the tires spin and then release the handbrake. The Ultimate Burnout Skill is also easier to perform if you are using manual driving instead of automatic.

If you want to try and pull off an Ultimate Burnout Skill without turning off traction control, try going in reverse for a few seconds and then hitting the gas a few moments after you see the “Great Burnout” skill designation pop up on the screen. It’ll take some practice, but after a few tries you should pull off an Ultimate Burnout Skill through this method.

Ninja Gaiden was my rite of passage at an early age. After finally beating that game (and narrowly dodging carpal tunnel) I decided to write about my gaming exploits. These days I enjoy roguelikes and anything Pokemon but I'll always dust off Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country and StarFox 64 from time to time to bask in their glory.
