Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 sales on the PS5 continue to impress, with Sony’s latest sales figures for the game continuing to place the webslingers in an echelon all their own. Sony had previously stated on its official Twitter account shortly after the game’s release that Marvel’s Spider Man-2 sales during its first 24 hours topped more than 2.5 million copies, making it the fastest-selling Playstation Studios game in history.
“Great news, Spidey fans,” the tweet said, “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has sold more than 2.5 million copies in the first 24 hours. Thanks for making this a high-flying launch!”
Sony followed up on Spider-Man‘s sales numbers during their most recent company earnings call (which covered figures up to October 30th), where they reported that the game had sold more than 5 million copies in its first ten days on sale (the game was released for the PS5 on October 20th).

Sony celebrated the milestone on their official Twitter, stating, “Woo! We’re incredibly honored to announce Marvel’s #SpiderMan2PS5 has sold over 5 MILLION COPIES! Thank you to our incredible community for supporting us and helping us reach this milestone!”
Prior to Spider-Man 2, Sony’s “fastest-selling” game was God of War: Ragnarok, which the company announced had sold 5.1 million copies in its first week (sales figures for the first 24 hours weren’t disclosed).
Before that, Sony announced in June 2020 that The Last of Us Part 2 had sold through more than 4 million copies in its first three days on sale.
