Epic Rolls Out the Fortnite Simpsons Update

The Simpsons became a legendary American cartoon series during the 1990s. Epic has rolled out a huge Fortnite treat for Simpsons fans the world over. A Simpsons update for Fortnite had been rumored for weeks during October, and was effectively confirmed via social media channels toward the end of that month. Players can now indulge in the Fortnite Simpsons miniseason that started on November 1.

The Springfield Map

The latest Fortnite update adds a completely new Springfield map to the game for Simpsons-themed battle royale mayhem. That map revives the land of Springfield we know and love from the cartoon series. It features a cel-shaded graphical style to match the cartoon aesthetic of the Simpsons.

Springfield is somewhat smaller than the typical battle royale maps in Fortnite. The map is smaller to such an extent that Epic reduced the maximum player count for its matches from 100 to 80. Thus, Fortnite matches on the Springfield map are a little shorter than 100-player battle royale.

Nevertheless, there is still plenty for players to explore in the Fortnite Simpsons Springfield map. That map includes nine named locations to check out. Among them are some of the most iconic locations from The Simpsons, such as Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, Kamp Krusty, Burn’s Manor, Evergreen Terrace, and Springfield Town Square.

The Simpsons NPCs and Bosses

Then, you can meet up with the Simpsons cast NPCs (non-player characters) who offer services and items. Plus, there are a few of the more regular Fortnite cast NPCs included on the map for good measure. These are the NPCs in the Fortnite Simpsons update and their locations:

  • Homer (Springfield Nuclear Power Plant)
  • Bart (Burd E-Mart gas station)
  • Marge (Evergreen Terrace)
  • Ned Flanders (Evergreen Terrace)
  • Peely (Cletus’ Corn Hole)
  • Sizzle Sgt (Corruption Corner)
  • Raptor (Springfield Slurpworks)
  • Fate (Cletus’ Corn Hole)
  • Comet (Burt E-Mart gas station)
  • Vengeance Jones (Donut District)
  • Shadow Blade Hope (Donut District)

The Fortnite Simpsons update has three new NPC bosses for players to fight. Witch Marge, Krusty, and a devil Homer are the three bosses who spawn at random locations on the Springfield map. Those bosses drop Krusty’s Mythic Exotic, Enhanced Tactical Shotgun Mythic (Homie), and Enhanced Compact SMG Mythic (Witch Marge) weapons when you defeat them.

You will also sometimes notice KBBL Radio Tower locations highlighted on the Springfield map. Those locations include Dober Men NPCs you can kill to pick up a KBBL Radio Tower Access Card. Then, you can utilize that card at a KBBL Radio Tower to see where the next storm circle will move to.

New Items and Weaponry

There are some new weapons and items to pick up in Fortnite Simpsons. Players can pick up and eat Krusty Burgers for health and shield regeneration. Drinking the Super Squishe regenerates health and shield, and also gives you a temporary speed boost. Or gobble up a Blinky Fish that replenishes health and shield and grants a temporary dash ability.

The Mr. Blasty revolver and its Krusty’s Mythic Exotic variation are the only notable new weapons in Fortnite Simpsons. That gun attaches balloons to enemies you shoot with it. Aside from that, the latest miniseason includes an assortment of returning Fortnite guns that aren’t especially fancy.

If you are looking for groovy headgear, try shooting the head off the Jebediah Springfield in Springfield Town Square. Then, you can pick up Jebediah’s Protective Helm shot off the statue. That statue helmet item gives you headshot protection.

Epic has scheduled four original animated Simpsons shorts for this miniseason to view on Disney+, YouTube, or live within the game. The first of those mini episodes was Apocalypse D’Oh, which went live on November 1. Sugar High, Multiplidiocy, and the Incredible Bulk are three upcoming mini episodes scheduled for November 10, 17, and 24.

Now is the time to discover the wonderful world of Springfield in Fortnite Simpsons. If you have not installed that update, you should do so soon because the Simpsons miniseason ends on November 29. Thereafter, Epic will roll out Fortnite Chapter 7 in December, for which more will likely be revealed shortly.
