There are more James Bond video games than movies. 007 First Light is an upcoming James Bond game for which GameIOI recently revealed PC specifications on January 6. Those specifications showed that 32 gigabytes was the recommended amount of RAM for the 007 First Light game. However, GameIOI has recently updated its RAM, VRAM, and minimal CPU specifications for 007 First Light after admitting a gaffe had been made.
A post appeared on the 007 First Light X page confirming the previous specifications mistake listing. That post says: “We are providing today an update to the PC system requirements for 007 First Light after the community flagged some inconsistencies in an earlier version of the listing. The earlier mistake was due to an internal miscommunication, leading to an older version of the specs being shared. After a thorough re-examination and additional testing, the recommended RAM has been corrected from 32GB to 16GB, VRAM values have been updated, and the minimum CPU line has been fixed.”

So, what this primarily means is that the 007 First Light game needs less VRAM and recommended RAM than was originally specified. GameIOI reduced the minimum VRAM values from 8 GB to 12 GB to 6 GB to 8 GB. VRAM is the memory for dedicated graphics cards. The recommended system requirements for the 007 First Light game are now as follows:
- CPU: Intel Core i5 13500 / AMD Ryzen 5 7600
- RAM: 16 GB
- VRAM: 8 GB
- Storage: 80 GB minimum
- OS: Windows 10/11, 64-bit
- Display Resolution: 1080p
The minimal system requirements for the display resolution, RAM, OS, and storage are the same. An Intel Core i5 9500/AMD Ryzen 5 3500 CPU is the minimum processor requirement for the 007 First Light game. The minimum graphics cards needed are NVIDIA GTX 1660, AMD RX 5700, or Intel discrete GPU equivalents.
One thing to note about the 007 First Light game is that it’s not tied to any of the movies, unlike the classic GoldenEye 007 N64 title. This game has an original plot that presents an origin story for a young 007 agent. It explores how Bond becomes an agent, rolling the chronology back before the Casino Royale movie to pre-00 status.
007 First Light is also a third-person action-adventure game rather than a first-person shooter in the mould of GoldenEye 007. It has gameplay that blends stealth, combat, and gadgets, giving players more freedom to choose their approach. The 30-minute 007 First Light gameplay trailer below shows us what the game looks and sounds like.
GameIOI has confirmed May 27, 2026, to be the release date for the 007 First Light game. It will be a multiplatform game available for the PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC. The updated specifications for the PC 007 First Light game don’t make a huge difference in what you can play it on. However, they do confirm that 16 gigabytes of RAM will be fine for optimal PC gaming performance.
