Although Insomniac initially stated that saved file transfers from the PS4 version of Marvel’s Spider-Man to Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on the PS5 wouldn’t be permissible, apparently the fan outcry surrounding the decision was such that the developers ultimately decided to change their minds.
The update won’t be allowed from day one of PS5’s November 12th launch date but will be implemented via an update sometime around Thanksgiving. The update will also add three new in-game suits, two of which feature robotic-looking elements and infusions of white color to the classic Spider-Man look.
“We have heard you,” the developer said on on Twitter. “In an upcoming update for #SpiderManPS4, we will add the ability to export your save to Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.
This update will also add the three new suits from Remastered to the PS4 game. We expect to bring you this update around Thanksgiving.”
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered will be available on the PS5 by purchasing Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
What do you think of Insomniac adding the option to export saved files from the original Marvel’s Spider-Man game on the PS4 to Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on the PS5? Let us know in the comments.
Ninja Gaiden was my rite of passage at an early age. After finally beating that game (and narrowly dodging carpal tunnel) I decided to write about my gaming exploits. These days I enjoy roguelikes and anything Pokemon but I'll always dust off Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country and StarFox 64 from time to time to bask in their glory.
