With over 835 unique vehicles to pick from—everything from buggies and drift cars to electric vehicles and track toys— Forza Horizon 5 definitely doesn’t lack automotive variety. That is, unless you’re hoping to drop the top and enjoy the open air. Sadly, if you’re after a convertible, you’re looking at fewer than a dozen options in the whole game.
But sometimes, you just want to cruise with the top down and the wind in your hair. There’s something about soaking up the sun, hearing the roar of the engine more clearly, and just enjoying the open road with nothing between you and the sky. Luckily, even if it’s sparse, Forza Horizon 5 has a solid lineup of convertibles that are perfect for those laid-back joyrides.
The following is a list of which cars in Forza Horizon 5 are convertibles.

2018 Ferrari Portofino
The Ferrari Portofino is one of those cars that just feels right in Forza Horizon 5—especially if you’re into convertibles. It’s got sleek looks, serious speed, and that open-top vibe that makes cruising through Mexico feel even better.
Under the hood, it packs a twin-turbo V8 with 591 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque, which gives it plenty of punch. It sits in the S1 class with a base Performance Index (PI) rating of 831, can hit around 214 mph, and goes from 0 to 60 mph in about 3.3 seconds. What makes the Portofino even more impressive is its sound—a lot of players say it has one of the best sounding engine notes in the game. With the top down, you get the full experience, whether you’re tearing down the highway or just vibing along the coast.
The Portofino can be purchased via the FH5 Autoshow for 215K credits.
2019 McLaren 720S Spider
The McLaren 720S Spider is everything you’d expect from McLaren — fast, sleek, and packed with performance power.
It comes stock in the S1 class with a Performance Index of 887, pushing out 711 horsepower from a 4.0L twin-turbo V8. It hits a top speed of 212 mph and rockets from 0 to 60 in just 2.8 seconds. It’s also super lightweight at just 3,157 pounds, which helps with agility and acceleration. While it’s rear-wheel drive by default, you can tune it to AWD for better grip in tight corners or road races. The retractable hardtop is a nice bonus too, making it great for scenic drives or photo mode sessions.
You can get the 720S Spider from Wheelspins or Super Wheelspins, and it’s shown up as a reward in the “Best of British” championship in Series 5, 28, and 40. If you don’t want to wait, you can also grab it from the Autoshow for 340,000 credits.
2014 McLaren 650S Spider
The McLaren 650S Spider is the predecessor to the 720S Spider, which took its place after the 650S was discontinued in 2016.
Even though it’s no longer in production, the 650S Spider still holds its own — and in Forza Horizon 5, it’s actually harder to come by since it’s not available for purchase in the Autoshow. It comes as a base S1-class car with a Performance Index of 896, packing 641 horsepower, a top speed of 207 mph, and a 0–60 time of around 3.0 seconds.
2012 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Performante
The 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Performante stands out as a well-balanced convertible in Forza Horizon 5. Weighing just 3,274 pounds, it holds the distinction of being the lightest open-top Lamborghini ever produced, contributing to its sharp handling and responsive feel. In-game, it’s classified in the A performance class with a base Performance Index of 797, capable of reaching a top speed of 185 mph and accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds.
Much like the Ferrari Portofino, the Gallardo Syder Performante is a convertible that comes with the added bonus of an impressive-sounding engine. The naturally aspirated V10 delivers a raw, high-revving engine note that’s widely appreciated among players, and the open-top design lets that sound shine through. Combined with its striking design and all-wheel-drive stability, the Gallardo Spyder Performante offers an engaging and rewarding drive—whether you’re navigating tight corners or enjoying a scenic cruise.
As one of Forza Horizon 5’s Hard-to-Find cars, the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Performante is typically only available as a Festival Playlist reward. When it’s not featured, your best bet is the Auction House—where it often sells for a steep price of around 10 million credits. If this drop-top is on your radar, be sure to stack up your credits.
2019 Porsche 911 Speedster
The 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster is basically a roofless version of the 911 GT3 RS — they share the same high-revving flat-six engine, so it’s got serious performance. In Forza Horizon 5, it’s an S1-class car with a PI of 813, packing 503 horsepower and 346 lb-ft of torque. With its rear-engine setup and sharp handling, it’s a blast to drive on twisty roads.
You won’t find it in Wheelspins or Super Wheelspins, but you can pick it up from the Autoshow for 275,000 credits or grab it as part of the Car Pass bundle.
2021 Bentley Continental GT Convertible
Want to cruise with the top down in a car that blends luxury, power, and handcrafted elegance? Look no further than the Bentley Continental GT Convertible. This A-class beauty comes in at a 759 PI rating and is available through the European Automotive Car Pack (Series 31 Summer). Once unlocked, you can grab it from the Autoshow for 300,000 credits.
Under the hood, it packs a 6.0L twin-turbo W12 engine delivering 626 horsepower and 663 lb-ft of torque. Despite weighing in at a hefty 5,322 pounds, it hits 0–60 mph in just 3.6 seconds and tops out at 210.5 mph. It’s surprisingly quick for its size and offers a silky-smooth driving experience—perfect for laid-back cruising across Mexico with the roof down in Forza Horizon 5.

Ninja Gaiden was my rite of passage at an early age. After finally beating that game (and narrowly dodging carpal tunnel) I decided to write about my gaming exploits. These days I enjoy roguelikes and anything Pokemon but I'll always dust off Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country and StarFox 64 from time to time to bask in their glory.
