It’s almost that time of the year again. That’s right, it’s time for the big game — the big virtual game anyways. Namely, the annual Madden NFL 23 Super Bowl prediction game. This year Madden NFL 23 predicts the Eagles to beat the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII 31-17, with Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts taking home the game’s MVP honors.
Hurts hoisted the polygonal Pete Rozelle Super Bowl MVP trophy after slinging 282 passing yards, accumulating 88 rushing yards and three total touchdowns, two of which were passing and one of which came on the ground.
Hurts’ top target was wide receiver A.J. Brown, who brought in eight catches for 114 yards and a touchdown. DeVonta Smith wasn’t far behind Brown with six catches, 92 yards receiving and a touchdown of his own.
Opposing quarterback Patrick Mahomes didn’t have as much luck; although he threw for 249 passing yards, he was held to a single touchdown and threw an interception as well, a testament to the Eagles’ defense.
The Chiefs kept things interesting however, as running back Isiah Pacheco carried in a 21-yard touchdown run to bring the Chiefs within seven points in the third quarter.
The Eagles hung on, as their running back Miles Sanders answered with a touchdown of his own while the Eagles D held the Chiefs scoreless thereafter.
That being said, Madden NFL 23 is no EA Sports FIFA; while EA Sports FIFA has accurately predicted the last 4 FIFA World Cup winners using the FIFA simulator, the Madden NFL series has been wrong 60% of the time in the past 10 years. Madden NFL‘s most uncanny prediction came in 2015, when it uncannily predicted the New England Patriots’ 28-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX.
What do you think of the fact that Madden NFL 23 predicts the Eagles to beat the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII? Who do you see winning Super Bowl LVII this year? Let us know what you think in the comments.
Ninja Gaiden was my rite of passage at an early age. After finally beating that game (and narrowly dodging carpal tunnel) I decided to write about my gaming exploits. These days I enjoy roguelikes and anything Pokemon but I'll always dust off Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country and StarFox 64 from time to time to bask in their glory.
