A Guide to the Mute R6 Operator in Rainbow Six Mobile

Intel gathering with cameras and other gadgetry is a part of the Rainbow Six Game. The Mute R6 operator is an anti-intel defender who can restrict enemy intel gathering. Mute is a defender with whom you can jam enemy signals, which can affect a variety of attacker gadgetry. So, let’s take a look at Mute’s loadout here to see what you can do with this Rainbow Six Mobile operator.

Primary Weapon

The primary weapon for the Mute R6 operator is the M590A1 Shotgun. That’s a pump-action shotgun that inflicts heavy damage at close quarters. However, the fire rate of that gun is very slow. This shotgun also has a serious damage drop-off at longer distances, which makes it less efficient for long-range gunfights.

Secondary Weapon

The Mute R6 operator has an AP30 machine pistol for his secondary weapon in Rainbow Six Mobile. That secondary gun has a very high rate of fire, which can make it very potent for close- to mid-range gunfights. However, this gun has a lot of vertical recoil, which can undermine shot accuracy. To reduce its recoil, try adding the Muzzle Brake to the AP30.

Mute’s Signal Disruptor

The Mute R6 operator’s unique gadget is the GC90 Moni Signal Disruptor (otherwise the Jammer). Mute has four Signal Disruptor gadgets he can place on the floor to generate an electronic interface. That electronic interface blinds attacking drones that move close to the Signal Disruptors. The Signal Disruptors can also disable Hibana’s and Thermite’s remotely detonated hard breacher gadgetry.

Mute’s Nitro Cell

For a secondary gadget, the Mute R6 operator is equipped with a Nitro Cell. A Nitro Cell is a small, remotely detonated explosive device you can place on the ground or walls. Detonating the Nitro Cell generates a strong explosive blast that can kill off attacking operators close enough to it.

Mute’s Stats

Mute’s stats show that he’s one of the most heavily armored operators in Rainbow Six Mobile. However, he’s also a slow-moving operator with limited range efficiency. With that in mind, Mute is better as an anchor defender rather than a roaming one. These are the stats for the Mute R6 operator:

  • Difficulty: 1/3
  • Range: 1/5
  • Speed: 1/3
  • Armor: 3/3

Tips for Playing as the Mute R6 Operator

Signal Disrupter placement is crucial when playing as the Mute R6 Operator. Never place Signal Disrupters in the centers of doors where enemies can more easily see, shoot, and destroy them from a distance. Instead, place the Signal Disrupters slightly to the left or right side of door frames. Alternatively, place some directly in front of drone holes to block them.

An important thing to note about Mute’s Signal Disrupters is that they’re not just for drone intel denial. You can also utilize his jammers for countering hard breaching, in much the same way as Bandit’s Shock Wires. Try placing Signal Disrupters behind reinforced walls to stop hard breachers from blowing through them. Those Signal Disrupters will also prevent Fuse from triggering his Cluster Charges when placed along reinforced wall areas.

Also, note that you can move Signal Disrupters after placing them. For example, you can prioritize placing Signal Disrupters to free enemy drones during the prep phase. Then you can pick up and move them alongside reinforced walls to counter hard breaching immediately after the prep phase.

As has already been noted, the Mute R6 operator is not a good roaming defender with his limited range. So, it’s best to play the anchor defensive role when playing as the Mute R6 operator. This means staying within the objective areas for close-quarters combat with his AP30 or M590A1 Shotgun.

The M590A1 Shotgun is a strong utility tool for reshaping map layout. You can blow large holes in non-reinforced walls with that gun. Thus, it’s an ideal weapon for setting up rotation holes that assist rapid defender movement between objective areas.

How to Counter the Mute

The best way to counter the Mute R6 operator is to play as Thatcher or Twitch. Throwing Thatcher’s EMP grenades will enable you to temporarily disable Signal Disrupters from a distance. Disabling Signal Disrupters for about 15 seconds will give you enough time to bypass them with your camera drones for scouting.

Twitch is also one of the best operators for eliminating Signal Disrupters, even though they jam her Shock Drones. The range of Shock Drone taser shots enables you to eliminate Signal Disrupters from a distance. However, you’ll need to be careful not to move your Shock Drones too close to Mute’s jamming gear.

You can also destroy Signal Disrupters by shooting at them. If you see a Signal Disrupter through a window or door, shoot at the gadget to destroy it. Or you can blow up the jammers by throwing fragmentation grenades at them.

So, the Mute R6 operator is a flexible one with whom you can black out enemy intel, reshape map layouts, and block hard breaching entry points. Some players might find Mute’s short gun range and recoil awkward, but he’s a strong anti-intel and anchoring defender for limiting enemy scouting and hard breaching nonetheless.
