A Guide to the Glaz R6 Operator in Rainbow Six Mobile

Timur Glaz is one of the RSS operators who are included in the Rainbow Six Mobile version of the game. The Glaz R6 operator is the only true sniper in Rainbow Six Mobile, capable of shooting through rounds with unmatched precision. This is an operator who excels at attacking from a distance, making him the most elite sniper in the game.

Primary Weapon

The Glaz R6 operator’s primary weapon is the OTS-03 DRM, which is a semi-automatic marksman rifle. This gun inflicts massive damage and can down lightly armored enemies in a couple of shots. However, the OTS-03’s fire rate is very slow, and this gun has moderate recoil. To make the OTS-03 DRM more manageable, try adding a Muzzle Brake to it.

Secondary Weapon

The AP30 is the secondary weapon for the Glaz R6 operator. This is a semi-automatic handgun with a moderate-to-good fire rate for a compact sidearm, but it lacks the raw fire rate of some heavier machine pistols. It excels in close-quarters combat with a noticeable damage drop-off from longer distances.

Glaz’s Flip Sight

The HDS Flip Sight scope is the showpiece of Glaz’s loadout in Rainbow Six Mobile. That unique scope attachment for the OTS-03 highlights enemies with a thermal imaging overlay. It enables you to see through clouds of smoke when targeting enemies. Enemies will appear red through smoke clouds when you target them with the HDS Flip Sight. So, that means you can accurately shoot at enemies behind the cover of smoke clouds they can’t see through when aiming with the Flip Sight.

Glaz’s Smoke Grenades

Glaz has three smoke grenades he can throw during a round. The smoke grenades generate a cloud that blocks the operator’s vision. However, this synergizes perfectly with the HDS Flip Sight that enables Glaz to see through smoke clouds. Glaz is the only operator in the game who can accurately aim and shoot through smoke.

Glaz’s Stats

Glaz’s stats show he’s a very fast-moving operator with extensive range. Yet, he’s also lightly armored, which makes him vulnerable in head-on bullet trading against defenders. These are the stats for the Glaz R6 operator:

  • Difficulty: 1/3
  • Range: 5/5
  • Speed: 3/3
  • Armor: 1/3

Tips For Playing as the Glaz R6 Operator

To kill more enemies with the Glaz R6 operator, keep your distance from them. This means engaging enemies along longer corridors and from outside objective areas. Try to shoot down enemies in objective areas through doors and windows from the outside.

You’ve got to make the most of Glaz’s smoke grenades, his biggest asset when combined with the HDS Flip Sight. Toss a smoke grenade into a door or window of a room where you know enemies are lurking. Activate the HDS Flip Sight to peek through the smoke cloud generated and start shooting. Then you can shoot down any red-highlighted enemies visible through the smoke cloud.

Smoke clouds can also come in handy for planting bomb defusers. When you’re carrying the bomb defuser, try chucking a smoke grenade into the objective area. This will help you plant the defuser under the cover of a smoke cloud.

Also, note that Glaz can blow holes through non-reinforced wooden walls with his OTS-03 and AP30. Both guns have enough penetration to blast large, clean holes through non-reinforced walls to create openings through which operators can walk. With that weaponry, Glaz can almost be a soft breacher operator. So, try shooting through non-reinforced wall areas around objective areas to create attacking openings.

Glaz’s OTS-03 is an awkward gun for close-quarters gunfights. When you must move into objective areas to engage enemies at close quarters, switch to Glaz’s AP30. The AP30 is much more suitable for close-range gunfights than Glaz’s sniper rifle.

How to Counter the Glaz R6 Operator

The best way to counter the Glaz R6 Operator is to play as Jäger. When you play as Jäger, you can counter Glaz’s smoke grenades by placing Active Defense Systems gadgets. The ADS gadgets will zap and destroy thrown smoke canisters in the air. Glaz’s HDS Flip Sight isn’t any good when he can’t chuck smoke grenades.

Try to avoid moving directly behind smoke clouds when you see them. If you see smoke in a doorway or a window, the chances are Glaz is behind it. Try to avoid moving through open spaces where Glaz might see you when there’s a smoke cloud. Move behind cover and wait for the smoke cloud to clear.

If you like sniping, you’ll love the Glaz R6 operator in Rainbow Six Mobile. This is an attacking operator who can inflict serious damage by picking off enemies from a distance with patient positioning, smoke grenades, and Flip Side aiming. He’s one of the best operators in the game for attacking from a distance. However, he’s not among the best operators for players who prefer to rush into and fight within objective areas.
