Although Marvel’s Spider-Man on the Playstation 4 won’t be among the games included as a free upgrade on the upcoming Playstation 5, the original PS4 version of the game will still stand to benefit in some ways from Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered: namely, in the costume department. A trio of costumes which will be added to Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on the PS5 will be patched into the PS4 version, albeit at a later time.
“I spent a bunch of time chasing this for you and I’m pleased to say they will come to PS4. Exact timing TBD,” James Stevenson, Community Director of Insomniac Games said on Twitter in response to an inquiry about the new costumes’ exclusivity.

Sony and Insomniac also revealed two new suits for the eponymous hero in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales on the PS5: the Crimson Cowl suit, a sleek, athletic suit with a hood on top (reminiscent of Assassin’s Creed) which overlays Miles’ original black-and-red costume and the T.R.A.C.K. suit, which adds a splash of white to Miles’ black-and-red suit and looks somewhat similar to the white-tinged Advanced Tech Suits used by the Avengers in their time heist, Quantum Realm endeavors in Avengers: Endgame.
“They may share the same moniker,” says the in-game-universe expose by Daily Bugle Now journalist Betty Brant, “but the new Spider-Man is starting to define his own identity apart from his mentor. In addition to honing his Spider-moves, Spidey’s partner is starting to show New York City that he’s got an eye for fashion. Take a look at two of the freshest suits we’ve ever seen, debuted by the new Spider-Man.”
Of the Crimson Cowl suit, Brant says, “Could it be a two-piece? Spider-Man looks like he’s ready to hit the gym in this slick athletic suit… Some call it a hood, others call it a cowl. Regardless, it’s never been done before, and it’s a look our new Spider-Man owns.”
“The new Spider-Man swung through the city in a second suit that elevated his heroic silhouette. An evolution of his classic red and black suit,” Brant says of the T.R.A.C.K. suit. “Looks like it’s made of a breathable fabric so Spider-Man can swing through the city without breaking a sweat.

How do you like the look of these new costumes for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PS5? Which new costume for Miles Morales did you like better, the Crimson Cowl or the T.R.A.C.K. suit? Do you think adding costumes for both the PS5 and PS4 versions of Marvel’s Spider-Man was a good move? Let us know in the comments.
Ninja Gaiden was my rite of passage at an early age. After finally beating that game (and narrowly dodging carpal tunnel) I decided to write about my gaming exploits. These days I enjoy roguelikes and anything Pokemon but I'll always dust off Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country and StarFox 64 from time to time to bask in their glory.
