A Guide to the Different R6 Roles in Rainbow Six Mobile

Rainbow Six Mobile has faithfully ported the tactical, high-stakes shooter of RS Siege to smartphones and tablets. This is a tactical shooter based on coordinated team play and operator utilities. It includes a variety of operators for players to choose from, categorized into distinct roles. These are the most notable R6 roles and the best operators for them.

Hard Breachers

The hard breacher is one of the most important attacking R6 roles in Rainbow Six Mobile. A hard breacher can destroy reinforced walls, barricades, and hatches. Blowing holes through reinforced walls around objective areas creates entirely new entry points and sight lines for attacking players to exploit.

Hibana and Thermite are currently the only two operators equipped for the hard-breaching role in Rainbow Six Mobile. Thermite has his Exothermic Charge, and Hibana has her X-Kairos launcher for blowing through non-reinforced walls. I recommend playing the hard breacher role as Hibana because her X-Kairos launcher is more flexible, enabling you to fire explosive pellets from a distance rather than planting them on walls.

Soft Breachers

Soft breachers are the antitheses of hard breachers. Although they can’t breach metal reinforcements, they can blow through non-reinforced walls, barricades, and ceiling hatches. These breachers excel at instantly opening up surfaces to create new openings for attackers to exploit.

Although Hibana and Thermite can fill the soft breacher R6 roles, it’s best to utilize them for blowing through reinforced walls. Ash and Sledge are the best operators for soft breaching with their powerful M120 CREM Breaching Rounds and Breaching Hammer soft-breaching gear. I recommend Ash over Sledge because she can blow open soft walls and barricades with ranged safety. For aggressive high-speed map control, Ash is the best for soft breaching.

Entry Fraggers

An entry fragger is a player who spearheads a team’s attack by pushing into objective areas first to secure first kills. It’s a high-paced action role ideal for fast operators with strong primary weapons. The emphasis of this role is very much on securing kills and clearing rooms.

There are a few operators you can play as for entry fragging, but Ash is the best equipped for the role. She’s the quintessential entry fragger with her high mobility and breaching rounds that can clear soft walls and defender utilities around doors and windows. Ying is a good alternative entry fragger with her Candela device for stunning defenders.

Anchors

The anchor man is a player who primarily stays within an objective area as a last line of defence. Anchors defend objective areas from inside them, with the objective of surviving rounds to prevent attackers from planting bombs. This means winning rounds on time or killing off remaining attackers who attempt to plant bombs in the remaining seconds.

Heavily armored defenders are generally the best anchor men. Rook is one of the best operators for playing the anchor role because of his R1N Rhino Armor Pack. However, some players prefer Smoke for playing the anchor role because he can waste time with his Z8 gas grenades.

Roamers

The roamer is another of the R6 roles for defending objective areas. Roamers are players who try to intercept and kill attackers before they reach objective areas. However, their primary goal is actually to hold up and slow down attackers around objective areas for time-wasting purposes.

Caveira and Jäger are the best operators for the roaming defender role in Rainbow Six Mobile. If you play as Caveira, you can utilize her silent footsteps to sneak up on attackers outside of objective areas and interrogate them. Jäger is a good roamer because he’s one of the few defenders with an assault rifle for ranged gunfighters.

Support & Intel

Support & Intel operators can disable defensive gadgetry or highlight enemy positions by providing additional cameras during rounds. For attacking operators, this role is more about disabling gadgetry. However, the support & intel role is more about additional camera monitoring from the defender’s perspective.

Twitch stands out as one of the best support & intel operators because she can disable gadgets and provide additional mobile camera support. You can utilize her Shock Drones to eliminate defensive gadgets or for scouting. Valkyrie is the best support & intel defender in the game because of her flexible Blackeye gadgets, with which you can extend map camera monitoring in or around objective areas.

Entry Denial

Entry denial is another important R6 role for defending objective areas. This is a role that focuses on blocking or restricting attacking paths into objective areas. Thus, it can be effectively combined with the anchor defender role, as the emphasis is on stopping attacking pushes into objective areas.

There are numerous entry denial operators, but Kapkan and Smoke are two of the best. Kapkan is one of the top entry-denial operators because of his Entry Denial Device traps that can inflict heavy damage on entry fraggers or rushed attackers who aren’t careful. Although he doesn’t have a trap, Smoke is the king of area and endgame denial with gas grenades and a Deployable Shield that can shut down doorways and choke points.

So, there’s much more to Rainbow Six Mobile than just killing players with sharper aiming and shooting. A deeper appreciation of team roles and composition can also make a big difference to your win rate. Mastering the R6 roles above will enhance your overall Rainbow Six Mobile ranking. Although you can be a jack-of-all-trades player, it’s better to focus on playing as more specific operators.
