Although Tom Holland is currently starring in two of the highest-grossing films of the year with Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey, the 30-year-old actor apparently still finds some time for video games. He also has a few favorites, along with at least one massively popular game he admits he is absolutely terrible at.
Holland, who starred as Nathan Drake in 2022’s Uncharted, based on Naughty Dog’s game franchise of the same name, recently revealed that another Naughty Dog title, The Last of Us Part II, is one of his favorites. The only drawback is that his love for the game has kept him from watching HBO’s hit The Last of Us series.

“I have not watched the series. Because I love the game so much. I don’t play video games all that much. And the game is just so good,” Holland said during a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
Holland has also previously made it clear that he is a huge fan of Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, calling them “absolutely sensational.” He said he and his wife Zendaya, who also starred in the MCU Spider-Man films and appears in the upcoming Brand New Day, have played the games together, although Zendaya apparently does not love when Holland tries to help her through the harder parts of story mode.
Holland also echoed director Destin Daniel Cretton’s comments that many of Spider-Man’s finishing moves in the games helped inspire action sequences in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

“I was actually playing the game last night. Couldn’t sleep last night, I was so excited about today,” Holland said at the red carpet premiere for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. “Just trying to figure out what I was going to do, and I was like, I’m just gonna throw the game on and have some fun. And yeah, for me, a lot of those finishing moves… A lot of our stuff was influenced by that stuff.”
While Holland clearly enjoys The Last of Us Part II and Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, there is one massive title he admits he has not mastered, despite having three different skins based on him in the game: Fortnite.
“I am so bad at Fortnite that I cannot play it. I don’t think I’ve ever got a kill in Fortnite,” Holland admitted later on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. “When you play those people who start building stuff? I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how to do that.”
Someone needs to help Tom through a non-sweaty Zero Build lobby immediately.
