8 PUBG New State Mobile Tips for the New Era Mode

New Era is an alternative ranked game mode that’s been in PUBG New State Mobile since 2024. That is a team-based game mode in which players battle it out on a smaller Jeta map. It is a faster, more frantic battle royale game mode featuring different characters with unique abilities for players to choose from. New Era also incorporates jet packs and shields that change the gameplay dynamics. Here are some tips to help you get on top of the New Era mode in PUBG New State Mobile.

Adjust the New Era Button Layout Slightly

The first thing I noticed when I started playing the New Era mode in PUBG New State is that its jetpack button slightly overlaps with the ADS targeting button, which is very awkward. However, it’s easy to fix that by editing the button control layout. To do so, tap the menu button and select Settings > Controls. Select Edit option for Left: Movement, Right: Fire, Fixed. Then drag the jetpack button slightly away from ADS targeting to reposition it.

Outmanoeuvre Opponents With the Jetpack

The jetpack feature is a big game-changer in the PUBG New State Mobile New Era mode. Movement in gunfights is typically horizontal. However, the jetpack adds a new vertical axis dimension to the gunfighting in the new era. Utilize the jetpack to break the enemy’s aim when they’re shooting at you in close-quarter gunfights. You can also outmanoeuvre opponents by launching yourself onto rooftops or higher platforms from which to shoot down on them.

Remember that jetpacks consume fuel and have cool-down periods. So, it’s best to save your jetpacks for gun-fighting action. Then you can launch yourself with the jetpack to dodge bullets whenever an enemy starts shooting at you.

Select to Play as Shy-D or Maria

Shy-D and Maria are currently two of the top-tier characters to play as in New Era. Playing as Shy-D gives you a big speed advantage over other players with her Fast Forward active skill for faster movement. Shy D retains the same movement speed for hip aiming and ADS, making it harder for opponents to hit her.

I also recommend playing as Maria primarily because of her Full Throttle active skill that enables you to immediately jetpack for a few seconds. That gives Maria more vertical mobility than other characters for outmanoeuvring opponents. She’s also a dab hand with light machine guns, with a passive skill that increases her movement speed and reload times when utilizing LMGs.

Land in Corners Outside the Safe Zone

Jumping into the center of the safe zone circle can land you in a warzone at the start of the New Era matches. However, you can better avoid big early scraps by landing in corners of the map just outside the safe zone area. Landing in corners just outside the safe zone will give you more breathing room to pick up higher-tier gear and amass Plasma energy at the start of matches. As the map is small, you’ll never be too far away from the safe zone even when landing outside.

Fight With Assault Rifles and SMGs

The New Era Jeta map is a small one that’s not ideal for sniping and longer distance shooting. So, it’s better to pick up and utilize assault rifles and submachine guns for mid to short-range gunfighting during New Era matches. SMGs are especially effective at shooting through opponents’ Plasma Shields. So, I recommend carrying an SMG alongside an assault rifle for mid-range shooting.

Try to Recruit Knocked Down Enemies

Don’t forget that you can recruit knocked-down enemies during New Era matches, as you can in the other battle royale modes. If you’ve lost some teammates, hold back on killing off a downed opponent and approach them to select the Recruit option. Doing so will get you an additional teammate to help you with the match.

Minimize Combat Engagement to Maximize Plasma Shield

Plasma Shield is another notable new gameplay feature in the New Era mode of PUBG New State Mobile. That shield absorbs bullet damage before health. It automatically regenerates when players have not taken damage for a while. Thus, minimizing combat engagement will enable your Plasma Shield to more fully regenerate for fewer avoidable gunfights. So, try to stay out of dogfights when you can by moving away from the sound of gunfire rather than running toward it.

Shoot From the Cliffsides

There aren’t many elevated landscapes on the Jeta map in PUBG New State Mobile. However, there is a ring of cliffsides overlooking the central map area of Quinby and Caltra. Those cliffsides can provide you with a crucial elevation advantage for shooting down opponents beneath them. So, take up positions from the top of those cliffs where you can rain down bullets at enemies with a scoped assault rifle.
