Where to Find Sumeru’s Saghira Machine Locations in the Genshin Impact Game

Genshin Impact includes eight Saghira Machines, also known as Energy Extraction Devices, within the Sumeru rainforest nation of Teyvat. Those guarded devices are exploration mechanics you can discover and deactivate to crack open Exquisite Chests, which typically provide Mora, Primogems, variable items, and Adventure Rank EXP. Shutting down all those devices will also activate a hidden World Quest to complete. This is where you can find the eight Saghira Machine locations in the Genshin Impact game.

Southeast of the Ruins of Dahri

This Saghira Machine in the Genshin Impact game is in the southwest corner of the Sumeru map. The best way to reach it is to go to the Teleport Waypoint just south of the Ruins of Dahri. Then, you can find this nearby Saghira Machine by walking directly east from there to the location circled below.

North of Gandha Hill

To find this Saghira Machine, head to the Gandha Hill region in Sumeru. Walk (or teleport) to the Teleport Waypoint just beneath the Gandha Hill map label. You’ll find this Energy Extraction Device by walking directly north from there to the Saghira Machine location shown in the snapshot below.

Northwest Sumeru

The northwestern region of Sumeru includes a Saghira Machine that’s just north of Old Vanarana. This particular Energy Extraction Device is in a camp on a high ridge that overlooks the route to Old Vanarana. The best way to access the Saghira Machine is to travel to one of the Teleport Waypoints located just above it and then walk south from there.

South of Yasna Monument

To find this Saghira Machine, go to the Yasna Monument region of Sumeru in the Genshin Impact game. This Energy Extraction Device is slightly south of that region. One way to find it is to head west from Pardis Dhyai to reach the nearby Statue of Seven. Then continue walking westwards from that Statue of Seven to reach the Saghira Machine shown in the screenshot directly below.

At Chatrakam Cave

You can find this Saghira Machine in the Chatrakam Cave area near the Palace of Alcazarzaray. The best way to get there would be to teleport (or walk) to the Waypoint in Chatrakam Cave. Walk in a southwesterly direction from there to the Energy Extraction Device circled directly below.

East of Vimara Village

This Saghira Machine is directly east of Vimara Village near the Devantaka Mountain region in the Genshin Impact game. Walk from Vimara Village to the Teleport Waypoint in Devantaka Mountain. You’ll find this Energy Extraction Device slightly to the northeast of that Teleport Waypoint.

Near Port Ormos

To find this Saghira Machine, go to Port Ormos on the south coast of Sumeru. Walk in an almost exact westward direction from the Teleport Waypoint in Ormos toward the Energy Extraction Device circled below. Alternatively, you can find this Saghira Machine by walking in a southeast direction from the Teleport Waypoint at Apam Woods.

West of Yasna Monument

This Saghira Machine is west of the Yasna Monument on the western side of Sumeru, which borders the desert. There’s a Teleport Waypoint just above it on the Genshin Impact game map. Walk or teleport to that Waypoint to find this Energy Extraction Device almost right next to it, directly south.

Find the Saghira Machines With the Genshin Impact Map

You can see where all the Saghira Machine locations are in the Genshin Impact game by viewing this interactive map. Select Saghira Machine on that map’s sidebar to reveal their locations. To make the map clearer, deselect all other elements in the sidebar so that it only shows where the Energy Extraction Devices are.

How to Complete the Saghira Machines

When you find the Saghira Machines above, you’ll need to deactivate them to spawn their Exquisite Chests. First, you must find two or three keys for each Energy Extraction Device. It’s quite easy to spot the glowing yellow cylinders for those keys. Look through the surrounding rooms near the Saghira Machines to find the keys.

When you’ve found the required keys, interact with the Saghira Machines to initiate their shutdown countdowns. This will start a defense phase during which waves of Eremite enemies will attack you. You must stay within the immediate circle of the Energy Extraction Devices when fighting off the enemies until the circular bar reaches 100%. If the timer expires before the bar reaches 100%, you’ll have to start the countdown again.

When a Saghira Machine bar reaches 100%, the Energy Extraction Device will explode. An Exquisite Chest will appear for you to open. Crack open the chest to receive your loot.

Completing all eight Saghira Machines also unlocks the Foolish Fatuus quest in the Genshin Impact game. You can start that quest by approaching Oleg at the Eremite camp near Yasna Monument. That is a quest in which you must defeat Fatui agents who are exploiting Sumeru’s energy with their devices.

So, good luck finding and deactivating those Saghira Machines in the Genshin Impact game. It’s much easier to find them when you know where to look. You’ll receive lots of loot from the eight Exquisite Chests by deactivating the Energy Extraction Devices.
