In Rainbow Six Mobile, defenders have an array of electronic gadgets to keep attackers out of bomb sites. Thatcher is one of the standout operators for penetrating defensive setups packed with electronics. The Thatcher R6 operator is one with whom you can disable electronic defences, paving the way for your attacking teammates to thrust into bomb sites. So, let’s take a look at his loadout in more detail here.
Primary Weapon
The Thatcher R6 operator carries an L1A1 assault rifle for his primary weapon. This is a semi-automatic marksman rifle with heavy shot damage and low recoil, which enhances firearm control. However, this gun also has a slower fire rate.
When it comes to customization options, the L1A1 offers plenty. There’s a versatile selection of optics for this gun. Players can also attach variable muzzle, grip, and internal modifications to Thatcher’s primary weapon.

Secondary Weapon
The SDP 9mm is the secondary weapon for the Thatcher R6 operator in Rainbow Six Mobile. That’s a semi-automatic handgun renowned for its serious damage and fast reload speed. However, this gun is locked to iron sights without any optics.

Thatcher’s EMP Grenades
The EG MKO-EMP Grenade is Thatcher’s unique electronic gadget. Thatcher has three EMP grenades that he can throw. Those grenades emit localized electromagnetic pulses that disable electronic gadgets within their radius areas upon detonation. Their pulses travel through solid walls, barricaded doors, floors, and ceilings. These are the electronic gadgets his EMP grenades will disable:
- Shock Wires
- Signal Jammers
- Cameras
- EDDs
- Gu Mines
- Active Defense Systems
Note that the EMP grenades temporarily disable electronic gadgets for about 15 seconds. Thus, its disabling effect is not permanent. So, you need to move quite quickly to exploit disabled gadgets after chucking EMP grenades.

Thatcher’s Claymores
The Thatcher R6 operator also has Claymore mines. A Claymore is a laser-triggered explosive device that you can place on the ground when playing as the Thatcher R6 operator. They are detonated when defenders cross their projected laser beams.

Thatcher’s Stats
Thatcher’s stats show he’s a beginner-friendly operator with solid armor protection and reasonable speed. He’s also among the best ranged operators in Rainbow Six Mobile. These are the stats for the Thatcher R6 operator:
- Difficulty: 1/3
- Range: 4/5
- Speed: 2/3
- Armor: 2/3

Tips for Playing as the Thatcher R6 Operator
When playing as the Thatcher R6 operator, remember that he has a support role for assisting the Hibana and Thermite hard breachers. So, try to coordinate with hard breachers when playing as Thatcher. Moving alongside hard breachers will enable you to directly assist them when they encounter electrified walls.
Note that you don’t need to toss EMP grenades directly into bomb site rooms to disable electronic gadgetry within them. In fact, it’s often better not to do that because ADS Magpies within bomb sites can destroy your EMP grenades. Try tossing your EMP grenades directly in front of bomb site door and window entrances rather than through them to avert Magpies. Don’t toss EMP grenades directly into bomb site areas unless you’re sure Jager is not on the defending side.

Thatcher’s Claymores are admittedly a little awkward because they’re better suited to defender operators. However, they’re designed for flank protection. Try placing your claymores along stairways or long hallways around bomb sites from which attackers can potentially flank you.
Claymores can come in handy when your team has planted a defuser, which turns attackers into defenders. When your team has planted a defuser, try placing some Claymores around it. Place the Claymores behind furniture and debris cover around the planted defusers to make it harder for defenders to see them.
Remember that Thatcher is better-suited for medium-to-long-range gunfights than short-ranged engagements with his L1A1 assault rifle. So, it’s best to pick off defenders from outside bomb sites by shooting through windows and doors. He excels at shooting down enemies along longer corridors. Try to avoid getting stuck into close-quarter entry gunfights within bomb sites when playing as the Thatcher R6 operator in Rainbow Six Mobile.

How to Counter the Thatcher R6 Operator
The best way to counter the Thatcher R6 operator is to play as Jager. Although EMPs can disable Jager’s ADS Magpies, those gadgets shoot down grenades in the air. So, placing ADS Magpies within bomb sites can restrict EMP grenade usage.

Aside from that, try to shoot down Thatcher at closer quarters. He’s a more vulnerable operator at shorter distances because his L1A1 Assault Rifle is a mid-to-long-range DMR. Defenders with submachine guns and shotguns can outgun Thatcher in close-quarter combat.
Playing as the Thatcher R6 operator will enable you to bypass electronic enemy defenses. However, you must master the arc of his EMP grenades to more efficiently dismantle electronic gadgetry. Remember that he is a support operator for breaching defenses, so don’t try to be an entry fragger when playing as Thatcher.
