Pokemon Sword & Shield Isle of Armor PokeDex bug to be fixed

Pokemon Sword and Shield players worried about the bug where Pokemon they’ve transferred from Pokemon Home won’t register in their Isle of Armor expansion Dex can rest a little easier — the official Pokemon support page has confirmed that the issue is an in-game bug and that they are currently working to resolve it.

“We have confirmed an issue in which a Pokémon may not be registered to the user’s Isle of Armor Pokédex when transferred from the Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon HOME to Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield,” the Pokemon Company support team said. “Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.”

Impatient Pokemon Sword and Shield players can take advantage of a semi-glitch if they don’t want to wait for Nintendo and Game Freak to fix the issue, however (which will probably take a week or two). According to Reddit user Gillloteen, there’s a way around the bug. You can do this by placing a Pokemon transferred from Pokemon Home into a Pokemon Daycare and then removing them right away, which will register the Pokemon in the DLC Isle of Armor PokeDex, instead of making you catch it in the wild to accomplish the same task.

In Pokemon Sword and Shield, there are two daycare centers. One is located on Route 5 and the other is in the Bridge Field area of the Wild Area.

Did the Pokemon Sword and Shield Isle of Armor PokeDex bug have you stressing? Which of your favorite Pokemon that you transferred from Pokemon Home did you want to see most in the Isle of Armor PokeDex? Let us know in the comments.

Ninja Gaiden was my rite of passage at an early age. After finally beating that game (and narrowly dodging carpal tunnel) I decided to write about my gaming exploits. These days I enjoy roguelikes and anything Pokemon but I'll always dust off Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country and StarFox 64 from time to time to bask in their glory.
